Thanks to the internet, information about Gay Health issues is easier to access than ever. Not only can you find information about your health issues here at AIDS Rochester's "Healthy Gay Men" pages, but there is also a wealth of other information available out there. Some of our favorite Gay Health websites are listed below:
level1bullet www.gaphr.org - A site based in Georgia that is specifically designed for gay-friendly physicians, but often contains some great updates, articles, announcements and health information.
level1bullet www.gayhealth.com - Probably the most detailed site out there, this site was even featured in an issue of "The Advocate." This site is designed to appeal to physicians and to "regular people" and is very easy to use, containing information, discussion, and articles on a wealth of health issues in the LGBTQ community.
level1bullet www.metrokc.gov/health/glbt - This site is run by the Health Department of Seattle Washington. They have been leaders nationally in addressing LGBTQ health issues and specifically in promoting Hepatitis vaccinations in gay and bisexual men.
level1bullet www.glma.org - This is the official site of the Gay & Lesbian Medical Association, a national organization comprised of LGBTQ doctors and health providers from around the country (of which AIDS Rochester is a proud member). Even though its target audience is doctors, there is usually some pretty good information to be found here.
level1bullet www.safeguards.org - This site is very much like AIDS Rochester's "Healthy Gay Men" site. It is run by a group based in Philadelphia who do outreach and education about HIV/AIDS and other LGBTQ health issues.
level1bullet www.myoutandabout.com - Out and About for Central, Western, and Upstate New York. Local organizations and links.
